Honestly, I love animating in flash. It’s about subtle movement, easing, elegantly slowing images down and paying attention to artistic elements of it. I am a modest guy, but I’ve never met anyone else who is THAT detail oriented as I am when it comes to flash, or AE animation. People often don’t have the feeling for it, they slack, leave so much to chance. Even many of our vendors are very bad (except for Picnic). Recent VW banners are crap. Nisan, Honda, Toyota – bad as well. Fonts are all over the place, motion animation is everything but good. In many cases you can see the cars driving into the banner with no spinning wheels(?!whaaa?) See, if the car I’m animating is slowing down, my wheels are physically correct. There is even a subtle lowering of the hood when car stops (usually only for 1 pix or so). Still, in order to do that, I have to mask the wheels, then mask the body, animate them properly JUST to be able to lower the hood when it stops. My wheels SLOW down and stop WITH the car and not 2 seconds after the car has stopped (as I’ve seen so many times). My cars look $F#@% real and they act real. But these two banners are just some large MYCO units in 970×250 and 300×600. Keeping them under 55k was never a big challenge – I can compress my assets like crazy:) No spinning wheels here, just some nice slow flash banner…

Work in progress, resizing of the message A of 2015 Lincoln MKC flash banner.
