I never thought I’ll be releasing any of those “The Best Of” albums and projects. In my mind that was somehow always reserved for huge, established bands with gazillion of albums. Still, when I recently got offered such project, I thought about my career – clearly I am still working at the marketing agency, so no big music stars here.

Yet, I’ve written and released some 5-6 albums (including one remastered re-release and few compilations), I’ve performed for few regular drunks and their dog in small dive bars, but also for masses, in Stadiums, in front of 6,000-15,000 people. I shared stages and opened for big international stars, from Doro Pesch and Great White, to Ashes of Soma and many others in between. I’ve watched young bands playing covers of my songs in clubs, I’ve stage dived (at my age), happily risking fractures; I was featured in magazines and TV shows from Croatia, Poland, Bosnia, Germany, Italy, to California, NY, Mexico and of course – Detroit. The big “D”, that shined it’s lights on me for a while – and it was fabulous. Playing Hard Rock Cafe anytime I wanted, having 101 WRIFF hosting my CD release parties, driving with my music on 89X, and even having legal issues with my publisher! Playing venues from New Way divebar, to Emerald and Royal Oak cafe and finishing my career with Ingray at eh Max & Fisher theater.  OK, that was cool but was it enough for “the best of”?

Well, after I decided to stop jumping on the stages of America, I’ve done way more in the studio; from scoring and recording music for few Movies, to performing on other people’s tracks as a guest musician.  I’ve won international awards on festivals, but I also fell of the few stages wasted. One time I even rolled down the stairs after the show. Hell I even got arrested!

I’ve met some of my music heroes through this awesome journey but I never actually left Design and art. I never took it to the next level, I never took risks for fame and life in the busses and on the road. Was I supposed to?
Anyway, I am not done yet. I am currently working on another project that features such names like Kevin Sharpe, Geoff Tate, ICP (and many more) which I’ll write more about in few months.

So, all in all – I do kinda feel that there is enough of my music to be put on one of those “The Best Of” things (But I probably won’t call it like that)…Few songs from AXA (in foreign language), few songs from INGRAY (in English), some of my Film music, few of my solo singles, and a bonus – my previously never released track, that I’ve done featuring my drummer Dave Dupuie and Tiffany Marrie as a guest singer.
Now, the question remains … Who will design my new album cover..:) ?
